Airy, MD WHEN: 2010 or 2011 TERMS: This donation is for a $1250 credit towards professional taxidermy work of greater value. This taxidermist’s goal is to complete your hunt by creating a mount that captures the beauty of the animal and makes it come alive. He likes to, “Breath life back into your animal.” Each mount is created as a custom piece allowing him to showcase his talents as an artist. This is only natural since Kelly has been a hunter and artist all his life. Growing up with a sketch book in hand, he found wildlife to be his primary subject. Melding his two loves together, art and wildlife, it was only natural for him to turn to taxidermy as a profession. Kelly has over 25 years experience mounting African and North American big game not to mention small game, birds, and both fresh water and salt water fish. WEBSITE: www.mdtaxidermist.com ===================================================================================== WHO: Ultimate Firearms, Inc. WHAT: Custom .50 Caliber In-Line Muzzleloader with Burris Scope TERMS: Ultimate Firearms, Inc. makes the BP Express, the world’s finest custom muzzleloader. With velocities approaching 2400 feet per second with a 300 grain bullet, the ability to burn up to 200 grains of Pyrodex pellets, and an easy two minute cleanup, this is truly a scientifically engineered, long range muzzleloader that harbors tremendous accuracy and power. This muzzleloader has documented kills on big game in excess of 500 yards. The BP Express has fired five shot groups of one half inch at 100 yards and 1.23 inches at 500 yards. This rifle has been used with great success on Brown Bears in Alaska to Cape Buffalo in South Africa. It is designed for the discriminating hunter looking to maximize his shooting potential and hunting effectiveness. It has been tested to over 125,000 psi breech pressures. That amount would cause failure in most any other muzzleloader. The rifle has a lugged, locking bolt with two blow ports to prevent primer blowback. Due to the patented ignition system, there are no gasses expelled through the breech plug. This muzzleloader is primed with a unique, patented, . 45 caliber brass casing with a magnum rifle primer which is ten times hotter than a .209 primer. No more having to load those tiny caps or .209s, simply lay the .45 casing in the chamber and rack it forward. The casing surrounds the nipple meaning no blowback. Gone are the days of removing breech plugs and scrubbing tiny parts. This firearm is scientifically engineered to such tight tolerances that there is no fouling blown down the threads during ignition, thus no need to remove and clean it! Simply clean this muzzleloader from the bore as you would any other weapon. This BP Express has been outfitted with a Burris rifle scope with a ballistic plex reticle and a custom muzzlebreak. The shooter can use the reticle to compensate for bullet drop, and aim dead-on at targets from 100 to 400 yards. The need for hold-over guesstimation is eliminated. Custom Stainless Barrel Custom Thumbhole Stock Enhanced Trigger Howa or Remington 700 Action To learn more about this fantastic muzzleloader, talk to Dave Watson about his competitive shoots with this firearm. Also, be sure and speak with Jim Scott about this very unusual firearm at the Outdoor Show. It is printed on giclee canvas, measures 24”x36”, and has been professionally stretched, and beautifully matted and framed. This exquisite piece of art was inspired by SCI’s 2009 Conservation Artist of the Year, Brian Jarvi, while doing field research in Samburu (northern Kenya). He witnessed two battling elephants and observed that the fight for dominance was elevated to its highest when the two bulls faced off on a test of wills…and secured their position as The Last Gladiators. Internationally recognized artist Brian Jarvi, creates up close and personal compositions from his “on the ground” field research in Africa. By combining intricate detail, dramatic lighting, and anatomical accuracy, Brian creates masterpieces. "The excitement lies in transferring situations I have witnessed onto canvas," says Jarvi. "When choosing the themes and subjects of my paintings, I like to draw on personal experience. The tremendous diversity, the sheer numbers, and often-sobering confrontations of the wildlife have spawned more ideas than I can ever hope to create on canvas." A Minnesota resident most of his life, Jarvi is the first artist to win both the Minnesota Duck and Pheasant contests in consecutive years, and only the second artist in history to win both of Minnesota's major print contests. Jarvi has been an exhibitor and supporter of SCI since 1992. WEBSITE: www.frontieradv.com ====================================================================================== WHO: Hendershot’s Sporting Goods, Inc. WHAT: Custom Ammo and Load Development WHERE: Hancock, MD TERMS: If you want to take your rifle and ammunition performance to the next level, Hendershot’s is donating a custom load development program for your fine rifle. The reason is simple- maximum accuracy and performance to exploit the “Extreme” potential of your rifle. Here's how it works. Once they have your rifle in hand, they will do a complete evaluation. Trigger pull will be checked to ensure weight of pull, sear engagement and over-travel are all working in perfect harmony. Their skilled technicians will ensure your rifle is bedded properly, all points of contact are even and no torque is being applied to the action or barrel. Next, your barrel will be carefully examined with a bore scope. The throat will be inspected for signs of wear that can lead to poor accuracy, and every inch of the barrel will be checked for signs of stress. They will make sure the crown is concentric, and check for any damage that may have gone unnoticed. Finally, your scope will be re-mounted--the correct way. During this process, the base mounting screws will be tightened, and the scope rings lapped to eliminate alignment torque on the scope tube. Once they have determined the status of the rifle, the custom load development will begin. Your ammunition will be loaded with the bullet of your choice or their knowledgeable staff is happy to make recommendations considering all the variables. Once the most accurate load has been tested and proven, they will load your custom ammo. Once the proper load has been developed and tested, you will be provided with all the ballistic data. Your rifle will be sighted-in according to your specifications and thoroughly cleaned before it is returned to you. The winning bidder will be responsible for the cost of ammunition used during load development, and will be asked to purchase at least 100 rounds of the custom “Extreme” ammunition. Why spend all that money on a nice rifle and scope and not have the ammunition to get maximum performance and accuracy out of your trusted firearm? The right ammo could make the difference on getting your trophy of a lifetime! We appreciate this 100% donation. Be sure and visit with them at the Outdoor Show before the banquet. Imagine six days in the Teton Wilderness of the Bridger-Teton National Forest on horseback with no roads, no cell phones, and no generators or electricity. You’ll be provided with horses, tack, a wall tent, hearty meals, an experienced cook, and an expert guide knowledgeable about the area and wapiti. This is the largest designated wilderness area in the lower 48 states, and looks the same as when the mountain men trapped beaver here 200 years ago. Your trip begins in Cody, Wyoming on Monday, August 23, 2010, where you will be picked up at your motel. You will be driven about 50 miles down a dead end road to the Deer Creek Trailhead. Your gear will be packed onto a mule, and you will mount your horse to begin the ride with the pack train up the infamous Deer Creek Trail. Once you clear the pass, you will drop into the Thorofare Creek drainage. Thorofare Creek flows into the Yellowstone River which flows another nine miles into Yellowstone National Park. You will be scouting the headwaters of the Thorofare River. The “Thorofare” is considered to be the entire drainage that drains to the Thorofare River in Wyoming Elk Area 60. The Thorofare is so named because of the migration routes for the big game in this drainage - it is a Thorofare! While the crew is preparing the camp for the upcoming hunting season, your guide will take you scouting for elk and elk sign everyday. You should see plenty of elk, and possibly big horn sheep, grizzlies and wolves in the most spectacular scenery that God created. You can glass, call, spot and stalk to get some spectacular pictures, and hone your skills for a later elk hunt. On your sixth day, August 28th, you will pack up and head back to civilization with a lifetime of memories of the Thorofare. Wyoming Expeditions has exclusive hunting rights to an area roughly six miles by nine miles just southeast of Yellowstone National Park. The area experiences the huge elk migration out of the park when the snows come, but contains a large resident elk population year round. This is a true wilderness adventure. There are no hidden costs on this trip, but you will need to secure lodging in Cody the day before and after this scouting trip. Additional guests may be added to the trip for $1500.00. Take your camera so you’ll have plenty of photos to show your friends, and be prepared to come back with them for the elk hunt of a lifetime. You may even catch an occasional grayling. Additional fishing days may be added for $450.00 for two people per day, and lodging and meals only may be added for $125.00 per person per day. Think about taking friends along on the trip for $1095.00 or adding a couple of extra days to the trip. Airy, MD WHEN: 2010 or 2011 TERMS: This donation is for a $350.00 credit towards professional taxidermy work of greater value. He is donating $350.00 credit for taxidermy services. The credit is not transferable beyond the purchaser’s immediate family, and corresponding taxidermy work must be initiated within two years of the banquet. It is not redeemable for cash, and may not be used to pay for shipping or import fees. You may also use the donation for shoulder mounts. Please look at his website and his pedestal mounts on display at the banquet. We appreciate this repeat 100% donation to the chapter which totals $2000 this year.
