National Capital Chapter Sables assist Girl Scouts earn their Wildlife Badge
The Sables decided to focus on Girl Scouts with the purpose of continuing education of the outdoors, hunting and conservation. Four of the Sables are teachers, so creating lesson plans to fulfill the Wildlife Badge was right up their alley! Many Girl Scouts earned their badge by attending lessons at the Sables booth.Hundreds of youth went through the booth and were introduced to the Safari in a Box and the mission of Safari Club International. Other Sables members asisted the Eddie the Eagle program in educating the youth about the importance of gun safety. The wildlife badge seminars proved ot be so popular that the Sables have been invited to participate in a “Cubaree” next month where the Sables will aim their educational efforts to help Cub Scouts to earn belt loops while learning about wildlife and conservation. If you know of any scouts in the NOVA area who may benefit from this seminar to earn a badge, contact Beth Robinson.
